Evan Kramer

Hi there. I'm Evan.

I spend most of my time parenting and working for a data startup. When I'm not doing those two things, you can find me cooking, doing dishes or laundry (parenting-adjacent), trying to be a supportive husband, searching for the time and motivation to exercise, or fixing things around our 100 year-old house that are either broken or will break soon. I also sometimes consult and coach people. You can learn more here or if you're interested.

I've taken a wandering path. I started my career leading teenagers on wilderness therapy expeditions. Now I help enterprises get more value out of their data. In between, I was a teacher, a vice principal, a bureaucrat, a public sector executive, and a technology consultant.

This varied experience exposed me to lots of different experts and behaviors. By contrast, I'm not an expert in anything. I do, though, ask questions to learn about others' perspectives and expertise. Having worn so many hats allows me to appreciate others' value, empathize with their struggles, and help address those struggles in ways they might not otherwise think of.

Other interesting tidbits that might not stand out from a short bio and headshot:

  • I speak fluent Spanish (and mostly speak to our children in Spanish). Spanish speakers who overhear me are often quite confused that I'm just a white guy from California based on how I sound.
  • I was obese when I was young and into high school. It still affects how I think about myself and my health.

I also write occasionally on Substack. You might like it. Might not. Either is fine.

If any of this sounds like what you're looking for in an acquaintance, coach, consultant, or advisor, let's connect.
